YEY

Finally got my Wii after a ton of trouble. The Wii came without a powercord or nunchuck, so I had to buy those, and then I forgot my memory card hehe. I've also got the PSP, I knew I'd get both. So I got all the games I wanted to play. Patapon is so great that I want to play the second game~! I only got LocoRoco 2, but that's enough for me. The music is awesome though, and it has awesome replay value. I just started Super Mario Galaxy and it's great amounts of fun! I'm having an absolute blast. Murumasa is great too, although I've only gotten to the first boss. Marie is playing it more heh. Elebits is frustrating, but ultimately very fun, I just wish that the time limit was longer. 10 minutes to explore a big wide area just isn't enough. D:

Hoorah~

I'm getting my refund check back pretty soon, so along with getting Titania a new power plug-or two depending on the prices on ebay and maybe a new motherboard so I can take her with me again. I can get a new gen console or a handheld game. I want a psp because I want to play all the cool kids games on there, but I also really want a Wii because a beautiful new game has come out-Muramasa the demon blade. Uwah.

I don't really need DSI or anything-emulators baby. I'm also not super hot about getting a PS3 although it seems that ATLUS is going that way. Maybe I'll get it next semester?

Here's what I'd like for a Wii:

Muramasa
Super Mario Sunshine
Paper Mario

PSP:
Loco Roco
Patapon 1 and 2

I might end up getting both since I'm getting a job again soon. Going back to tutoring. If not that, then working at a library or something.

ALSO: Play the new professor Layton. It's a brain breaking awesome experience.

I don't know what to say lately. I have a lot to write, but I just don't know how to word it I think. I've been feeling nostalgic lately really. Thinking alot about my childhood when I'd sit in my room all day and read books. Thinking back to my childhood makes me feel something odd inside. A familiar and yet foreign feeling. The smell of books, and the comfort of a lazy afternoon. Maybe I really missed being home last year when I was at the dorms because my house feels not like my own sometimes.

It's odd.

WAAAH

So what can you do with one recyclable shopping bag, one pillow case, one zipper a ton of time and five days?

A MESSENGER BAG!

I made it completely by hand so it took awhile. It works awesome also. The weight distrubution is pretty perfect. I used the straps from the shopping bag because they are stable and can hold a ton of weight. I reinforced the front, back and inside with the shopping bag material, but the sides needed to be more flexible so they only have normal fabric. It's got two pockets and is a bit bigger than my old messenger bag. I got a ton of blisters and my fingers on my right hand hurt like hell.

Pictures below the cut

/
I put a buckle on the front although I don't often use buckles. This is really for if it rains or some such.

/
Zipper! I put a pocket in the front for my wallet and what not. This believe it or not was the easiest part of my construction.

/
Inside with stuff already in there from when I was out and about earlier. The bottom was all jacked up because I had the wrong size bottom piece cut out and improvised though so it doesn't even look like it.

Back pocket with my DS and such back there. That pocket is deeper than I thought and conceals things really well.

I've been playing Rhythm Heaven lately and I really love this song. I wish the game didn't rely so heavily on bringing back minigames that you can't stand. I would reccomend this game if you have an emulator or someone already unlocked most of the content for you, so you could just play around with it. Speaking of- If anyone wants to play it on emulator, I can zip it up for you with my gameplay data so you can just have some fun with it.

<lj-embed id="36" />

Cats weird habits

Chii and Tiny Cat do some crazy things for affection haha.

Tiny Cat headbutts people, and if you don't pay attention he'll cry out at you in his cutesy yet rarely used voice. No one can resist the headbutts, although I usually will ignore him just to hear him meow at me ♥ hehe

Chii will yell at you literally "NYA NYA! にゃにや！mrow" So you'll pick him up. He'll go boneless when you pick him up. You can literally pose him and treat him as if he were doll, as long as you are paying him attention. He hates when Tiny Cat is getting all the attention and will roll around in the middle of the floor so he will be seen.

I love our silly babies.

A small part of the past

Night on the galactic railroad: It's a mysterious movie with a story that will be shrouded forever in even more mystery because long ago the orginal author of the novel died before he finished. Which is quite odd and yet strangely fitting that his novel was about how death can be unexpected and yet it is not the end of the universe (but it may quiet well be). I saw this movie when I was young and exploring Miyazaki (I've known Miyazaki for just about my whole life and I knew this was no Miyazaki), I watched it and the visuals stayed with me. Actually some of the visuals come up in other Miyazaki films. The shadow passengers show up in this movie and Spirited away which was made years later and I felt made a homage. I haven't watched this movie in years and yet it made a deep impression on me.

It's got a torrent, so check it out if you can get it to download for you. It's also on VHS if you have a VHS player, then buy it. It's a wonderful movie and it's really ot talked about anymore.

ehhh~

Well for the past few days I've been trying to find something brilliant to say to all of you reading. The thing is, I don't know what to say brilliant, so have some normalcy.

I think, I need to do a friending meme or some such also.

This is a post where you can dump all your friending meme's and I will do them. I will~

Also please watch Mirrormask, it's excellent.

I've been so into movies lately and I ended up watching "Arashi no Yoru ni" (on a stormy night) and it's a brilliant children's movie. Absolutely recommend it.

Watched "REPO!" also, and I have to say, I didn't like it at all. Not one bit. I usually like musicals and opera, but that was so corny and bland. The set up caught me, and then I disliked trying to watch it.

"The Fall" was also really a hit with me. I end up liking movies that are odd very often and this was really and odd movie. It pushed the envelope and I adored it. Good times.

My friend got me to watch FLCL (fooly cooly) and it was so weird. I liked it, but I was hoping it would be so much more in some places. I really enjoyed it at times-I mean really liked the deepness it could go to, but then it'd go and be cracky. Ruined the mood too much. I liked the action sometimes and the quiet things, but when they were censoring it from the very dark manga, they took it overboard.

By now all the spring anime except the longer ones are done and some new stuff for the fall seems to be appearing and is looking good.

Cross Game is going so great right now, I love it. That's the only anime I really attached myself hard core. It's a slice of life show with baseball as the backdrop. All the side characters have backstories that make sense and are included in the series and are not annoying. It's a great show that shows how people interact and deal with things.

Chii's new address is also cute and good I love it. Has the innate ability to give you diabetes.

Time of Eve is a miniseries, but it's so good that I wish that it was longer. It's about Robot's and their feelings, and how one student has been introduced to the world of Robot's emotions versus how the public feels about them. (Think about how people feel about machines nowand amplify it a bit)

Narutaru: Watched this on a whim and regretted it. The plot was all over the place and had a terrible cliffhanger ending without solving any problems. The manga is even worse. This saddened me because it comes from the artist who did Bokurano. The plot is about a girl who finds a dragon child and basically other people are trying to take over the world because they have them too. So she has to fight them. Only no one explains why they get the dragon children and everything that happens has little to zero explanation. Awful.

Manichi Kaasan is so awesome. I love how it ends each episode on a sappy note. I really like this show a ton and I hope it has a couple of seasons. It's a show about a mother's everyday life and how she handle's her two young children and her drunkard husband. It's just good silly fun.

Moyashimon: I heard it might have a second season. I hope it does. The manga is ongoing, but it isn't popular enough to get translated. It's awesome, so I hope it gets more attention.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: It looks like a great show, animation and premise are both awesome. It's about a kid getting caught in an earthquake, and it doesn't have any romance in it. Here's hoping it goes well.

Haruhi seems to be making people pissed off this season, by opening with a time loop experienced in the last season. The first four eps were the same exact one from an ep from the last season, except change of small details. I got out of the fandom a bit when they took too long to talk about a second season anyway and then said it wouldn't be like the novels. Now I'm feeling sort of bad for the people who are awaiting a fresh ep, and I understand how you guys feel.

Art battle is called off guys. I don't feel too well to get into drawing. Might have been something I ate.
Onto something that dissapointed me.

<lj-embed id="35" />

Oh Yahtzee. Why did you derail? You lost a ton of people with that. Remember in an earlier video you admitted that this basically is your job (game industry). Don't piss off your fans, and make the wrong kind of fans aka the ones you are criticizing.

Lately Yahtzee has been a bit off on his reviews and sometimes even reviews games outside of what he likes. It's still funny, but talking about things outside of your happy zone= bad idea. You'll only have bad things to say really. This is already blowing up, and I do not see a happy end in sight.

I'm not upset over Yahtzee's misogyny- He's really an equal opportunity hate machine, but producing a video that is not funny plus is derailed is a seriously a bad move. We'll see where this all goes. I'm honestly not going to stop watching-because I don't wait in baited breath for a new review, I know 1 in 5 games he talks about anyway since I'm an RPG'er and he likes FPS games. Unless the next video he does (which he has been doing stupid shit in the media lately and talking out of his ass on G4(shithole station btw, but still screwing over watchers wtf) and the like lately)is boring again, then I'm just here for the show.

Lie to me

I just watched this show last night, and I liked most of it, but there was something that annoyed me so much that I won't be watching it again.

All the connections to Real Life. All the pictures and mentions of celebs and presidents. I get that they want to show you that people lie when they are making certain gestures etc, but please stop using things from real life. It seems low and as if the script writers are trying to push us to "examine" if people are lying. I don't think that this is a good idea for a number of reasons, but the number one is: the system can be beaten easily. If someone knows the signs and throws them at you to trip you up, or their ways of lying are different than the norm-people would be judging them wrong.

They also said most lie detector tests can be skewed by emotions-any emotion. So the next time you are watching someone take a test and they say "It's wrong!" They actually may be right. 99.9% chance of being right about detecting emotions. Remember people feel all sorts of things while they are lying. They might not feel guilt, but anger.

The character interaction is really good though. They are really human, some of it is a bit corny, though it's forgivable. The men are a bit annoying and arrogant and the women don't just try and seduce them. They get rightfully hurt by some of the comments and it shows in their faces. They don't just stare the guys down, they make stands and try and prove their worth without breaking down. It's pretty awesome.

View Poll: My name in your brain?

I ask because people in my neighborhood grew up not knowing how to pronounce my full name-so I became Gabby or Gabby L (the L always sounds a bit distant, as if the L means something.) My recent friends Know me as Keru, or Keru-kun (I've heard it mispronounced as Kira. It's Key-ru, or K-ru depending on whether you have a Japanese accent like Ban-tan or not like my other close friends) My close friends do not call me by my full name often-occuring in some hilarious things such as them calling for "Keru" (My mom doesn't understand my nickname) or Gabriella.

I always say "Gabby is fine. My family knows Gabby."

Some people when they first see my name, call me by masculine name. Gabriel (Gay briel) and when I correct them, I get a blank stare. "Because I'm a girl, and the french feminine is elle." then they say "Oh, I'm so sorry." Hehe.

Good times.

PS. Titania came back on. No wasting money for me. *pats her* she needed a few days to rest and some good charging. *buys her an extra USB port*

Well I knew it'd probably eventually happen

I beat up Titania too much and she always gets difficult when she goes off for any reason, then it's hell to try and get her started again. She's being more difficult than usual today because I bumped her wrong.(I usually don't turn her off manually anymore-she hates it.) I need a sturdier laptop because I am accident prone-and a computer table. I don't have one, and that is what causes me to have so many accidents. UGH. Marie warned me, and it pains me to think that I killed my Titania.

Right now I'm on my mom's compu btw.

So I need to save up for a brand new laptop. Yes even though Titania has loads of space and is still pretty viable in terms of being a "fixer upper". I'm thinking that I'll get a new one with credit, and hock off the books I don't want/need on ebay. I really only need around $100-200. I feel very nervous about having the money I owe above my head, but I said to myself "I am a student who will already be broke by the end of my time at college. I'll be working it off anyway."

I was pretty pissed at myself because I handled Titania so roughly, and I wasn't super careful, like I ought to be, It was a learning experience because she was my first laptop-and you always destroy your first computer learning to be careful with it I think. I know what to avoid next time, and how to take good care of the next one. It's a pity and a shame, but these things happen.

So I'm on a job hunt. I'm going to sign up for a temp company tonight as soon as I get my resume in order. I don't like the idea of being a temp, but the temp company pays you weekly and I need that right now-I really really need it. They also have bus and gas vouchers-which is like a big big plus. My life has been very stressful lately and having a paycheck and a job will be good for me. I'm a person who thrives off of busywork, and when I'm working-my life is actually a better quality. I'm happier and I am organized.

I don't actually want to go back to working as a Tutor for Cleveland State next semester, but it is something that I can fall back on for now.

I'm seriously hoping that my life can be stringed together somehow quite soon. I want it to. I just want my own place so bad and to have a job that is good-and to study.

I'm rationalizing how I should do everything for the next few months atm. I don't want to be in debt to my bank-mostly as I want to close that bank account, I will probably hold off on getting the new laptop for a few days while I go job hunting. (I'll ask around for babysitting jobs or tutoring gigs to pay it off so I won't be in debt to this stupid bank.)

Wish me luck in figuring this all out guys.

Tummy ache

I hate when I mistakenly eat too much of a good thing. Gas doesn't settle on my stomach very well. Trying to fall asleep becomes a disaster-I always feel like I have to throw up. It's a very sad feeling. I hate the heavy feeling that doesn't go away for hours on end sometimes. I never have any pepto to get rid of it either. >_>

Urgh... Why are soft cookies so delicious.

edit: feeling a bit better. I won't get so carried away next time. I know that my stomach doesn't like all this pressure. *curls up in comfy place*

Lately people have been very depressing in the talks of racism and rape. They are very serious issue-this I know, but it's been making me sort of dislike browsing lj like usual. So let's be geeks together! Whatever you want to talk about that isn't sad, let's do it.

Snuggle nets times.

I'll start. below the cut

I don't usually post to my Tegaki-but I really wanted to do this drawing.
Titania and Oberon

So of course you all know that my laptop's name is Titania. My mom gave shinnagami_star her laptop and she named him Oberon. Awesome sauce dude~
Titania is an HP and Oberon is a Compaq. Their love is so illicit~

Anyway. Paypal is weird you guys. Something is wrong with it. If you ordered books from me, do not pay me until the site comes back. I will be contacting all of you who ordered. Thanks.

So anyway. Devil summoner is just so addicting. I love it. The fighting system is just so &heartts; No spoilers btw. I just like the exploration way better, the detective look and how they don't treat the player like an idiot. Anybody on my flist playing it-let's geek about it.

Cutie pie goodness and sale!

Well I've been watching Chii's new address-the second season to the absolutely cute Anime Chii's sweet home. I recommend reading the manga also, since it's very very brain breakingly, face meltingly sweet.

I hit a snag in my cute a couple of days ago though. I couldn't find the eps on youtube-where they were usually, and no one had the old eps that I wanted to show my sister. I eventually did find the episodes after hunting for a long while and getting okay subs. Now I can pass on the goodies to you.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4WI932RT
This is episodes 1-28(the most recent). I really didn't want to spend all year uploading the first season, when that's not so hard to find.

-----

Yeah. So anyway-I have a little space, and wants to make more while making other people happy. I'm selling most of my collection of books. The ones that I don't think will sell on lj will go to ebay, but anyway I have complete series of some manga and some other things I'm willing to part with.
Trying to be strong

Well I'm officially on vacation-but it's ever so bittersweet.\

A few days ago my mother had a very serious stroke that paralyzed her left side. She is okay, but she needs to go through therapy. She can walk, but her arm is numb She is trying very hard to stay optimistic and keep herself from having a short temper. I just love my mama and I don't want to make her feel bad about anything. I also don't want her pretending that she's okay. I don't-I don't know what to think. Of course I'll be helping her through this, doing all that I can. Hopefully she keeps up the energy she's always had.

Her sense of humor is still intact though. That gives me hope.
